Simon Lynn, Trentham Park, just back from watching his brother David Lynn playing at The Masters in Augusta came home strongly to pip Peter Baker, The South Staffs Golf Club and John Bandurak, Great Barr Golf Club, to take first place in the Staffordshire Professional Stroke Play at Little Aston Golf Club.

The weather although fine had dried out the greens and made them very tricky. However, it did not stop Simon coming home in 70 (-2). Coupled with his first round score of level par 72 it was sufficient to push first round leader Baker in to a tie for second alongside Bandurak, who also shot a -2 under par 70 for a total of 145. Baker was +2 74 in the afternoon round to finish on 145.

Lynn was three under par 32 going out and kept his nerve on the back nine, dropping just one shot to par to come back in 38
